Mr & Miss Pierced Meet.. Elaine Davidson!

Air-travel is generally a tedious, uncomfortable and time-consuming business, unless you happen to be loaded and can afford to travel first class, in which case it's still tedious, fairly uncomfortable and time-consuming - but you get champagne and free blankets.

So, on a recent trip back from London to P&M headquarters in Scotland, we were expecting general boredom and cramped conditions - so when Elaine Davidson turned up to share those cramped conditions, sitting just one row in front of us, you can imagine our surprise! As the Guinness World Record holder for the most pierced woman in the world, Elaine attracts attention wherever she goes, and certainly brightened up the journey on a certain Heathrow - Edinburgh flight on a snowy Tuesday afternoon with her extravagant facial decorations and knee-length, multi-coloured hair.

The lovely lady was happy to pose for pictures and answer questions about her 6,002 piercings which she performs on herself, including the dreaded 'Why?' (for fame, money and because she woke up one day seven years ago and decided she wanted to beat the world record)

Our hastily captured pictures do not do justice to the multitude of metal, but armed with only a Blackberry and rubbish aeroplane lighting, it was the best we could do!
